Well what a weekend for our exhibition, well done to everyone who exhibited, the standard as usual was very high.We had so many positive comments you should all be proud of what you have achieved. Thanks of course must go to all the committee who, without their work before and during the exhibition, it just wouldn’t happen.
Mark Francois opened proceedings at 10 am Saturday and gave a very positive short speech, he said and I quote “It is always a pleasure to be here and open this event to see such talent from local people that adds to the cultural well being of the town” . We would have liked to see a few more members at the opening, but I realise not everyone is ale to attend.
We had over 300 visitors and sold 19 paintings all told, 11 framed and 8 from the browser so well done, a good result. Mark Francois bought two paintings, one of Ian Deaves and one of Roy Bull’s.
We have to thank the SAA for their donations to our awards, it really is a great help.
Lastly, but by no means least, we must thank AR Adams Ltd the funeral directors of Rayleigh, for their continued sponsorship of our event, it really is most appreciated.
So see you at our ‘At Home’ May 2nd, when the winner of the ‘Jose Hook’ will be announced and the second and third prise winners will receive their awards.
